I've been using Linux Mint for the past few months now. Dated 4th of september 2025. I started this install of Linux in may 2025. Everything has been fine. I dont really play games, so there isn't any issue with that. I mostly just browse the internet. And do a little programming. Everything now a days is web based anyway. It's kinda annoying that everything is web based. I miss the days where we used programs for everything.
The reason why I picked Mint was simply because I couldn't be bothered to have something else. I wanted something light weight and I didnt like how heavy Ubuntu is with Gnome 3. I know that I can change the Desktop enviroment but I didnt want to struggle with that and might break something that would just work out of the box with another OS.
I got some programs installed, like Unity 3D, Steam (only for Counter Strike 2) and, well that's pretty much it. I dont have anything else installed. It's just a bare stock install of Mint.
The reason why I did install Linux was because I didnt like how Windows was doing, and my Macbook died. I think the Macbook is only dead because of the charger, there's a rift in the cord, so I think it's not charging. But it's such an old computer that it might not even be worth to buy a new charger since they're so expensive.
My computer is running alot faster with a Linux install, I just want to get a AMD graphics card even if I dont have any use for a better one since I dont really play games anymore.
